Adolescent Pedri agrees to new agreement with Barcelona with a € 1 billion cancellation clause

The 18-year-old Spanish midfielder has agreed to stay in Camp Nou until 2026. Barcelona teenager Pedri has agreed to extend a long-term contract with the economically affected Catalan giant. This includes a € 1 billion buyout clause.

The 18-year-old Spain International, nominated for the Euro 2020 tournament, has reached an agreement to stay at Camp Nou until 2026. The club reported that his new contract will be officially signed on Friday.

Pedri, who has a relationship with Liverpool, joined Las Palmas in Barcelona in August 2020 and soon established himself as a starter in the midfield.

He has played 53 times in the past season, most of them in clubs. Barcelona is fighting inside and outside the field, so his new deal is little good news. He was ninth in LaLiga and lost in the first two games of the Champions League.

Lionel Messi left the club this summer after failing to pay for his new contract. Meanwhile, experienced players such as Gerard Piqué and Jordi Alba have agreed to pay a reduction so that Ronald Koeman’s team can register a new signature.

President Joan Laporta revealed his financial problems in August, saying: I am very worried about what happened. This is very  dramatic situation , but it is good news.

Our credibility and experience-based strategic planning for Barcelona’s assets makes this temporary situation. The club’s economy will be healthy within a few years. I think so that it will be.
