The much-awaited film ‘Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva’ will release on Friday (September 9). Made at a cost of Rs 410 crore, it is going to be the most expensive movie in the history of India. However, Ranveer and Alia once again got into a controversy before the release of this much discussed film.
Ahead of the film’s release, director Ayan Mukhopadhyay went to the Shiva temple in Ujjain on Tuesday (September 6) to seek blessings. Ranveer and Alia were there. And that’s the obstacle.
After reaching the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, they were welcomed but Ranlia was not allowed to enter the temple.
The Hindutva protestors started the protest highlighting a comment made by Ranveer about beef 11 years ago.
In an interview during the promotions of ‘Rockstar’ in 2011, Ranveer said, “My family is from Peshawar. As a result, I am familiar with Poshayari food. Love mutton, paya and beef too. I am a big fan of beef.”
After this comment was published in the net world, it went viral like a storm. Due to this explosive comment, there are demands to boycott the new film.
After such comments, when Alia, Ranveer, Ayan tried to enter the temple, Bajrang Dal workers-supporters started showing black flags. The situation became so heated that clashes broke out between the two sides.
In the end, Ranveer did not enter the Alia temple as he could not find a way. Only film director Ayan entered the temple and prayed for blessings. He also shared that picture on Instagram for the audience.
