Closely Matched: GOP-led AZ Review Tie to Biden’s Winning Margin

The Arizona election review closely matches Joe Biden’s winning margin. The final report from the GOP-led AZ election team concluded that there was no evidence of voter fraud or tampering with ballot counts and that any discrepancies were due to human error. However, their findings closely matched Joe Biden’s winning margin in the state.

The final tabulation found that John McCain received 489,171 votes (47.54%) and Barack Obama got 740,375 (70.87%).

The Republican team’s review totaled the state’s 1,678 precincts finding:

U.S. Senate race: 838 discrepancies in Maricopa County (Phoenix), but no evidence of fraud or tampering.

The Arizona Republic reported that an audit of 1,500 ballots “found no problems” while the Arizona Daily Star reported that checks at two polling places in Pima County resulted in a one vote change.

The GOP review did not include Pima and Yuma counties due to the length of time required to hand-count ballots. According to AZ Secretary of State Jan Brewer, “The Republican team compared 1,578 paper ballots against the electronic results in 10 precincts.
