Darren Gough: Yorkshire designate previous bowler as between time overseeing head of cricket

The 51-year-old has been given the job until the finish of the 2022 season instead of Martyn Moxon.

Moxon was one of 16 individuals to leave the club last week in the midst of the prejudice embarrassment.

Being out of the changing area for a long time has helped me in my schooling, Gough told Talksport on Monday.

A report found previous player Azeem Rafiq was a casualty of racial badgering and tormenting at Yorkshire.

Gough, who went through 15 years at Yorkshire north of two spells, said he needs to have my impact in revamping the club.

We want to remake a culture and make Yorkshire a superior, more comprehensive spot, he said.

That is the thing that I consider to be the vision for the club right now.

Gough will begin his job quickly and has resigned from his position as a moderator on radio broadcast Talksport, which he has held since resigning in 2008.

He made his introduction for Yorkshire in 1989 and was important for the crew who won the 2001 County Championship, which was the club’s first triumph in quite a while.

He left to join Essex in 2004 preceding getting back to Yorkshire as commander in 2007.

Gough made his Test debut for England in 1994, proceeding to take 229 wickets at a normal of 28.39 in 58 matches.

He played 159 one-day internationals, requiring 235 wickets – the second-most for England after James Anderson (269) – at a normal of 26.42.

In 2019, Gough was selected as England’s quick bowling specialist for the development to the two-Test series against New Zealand.

We are enchanted to invite Darren back to the club, and are exceptionally glad that he has accepted the position, said Yorkshire executive Lord Patel.
