Monkeypox infections are on the rise in the United States

The number of cases of monkeypox in the United States has exceeded 3500 as of Tuesday. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). CNN reported this news in a report.

As of Tuesday, nearly 3,600 cases of monkeypox have been reported in the country, according to the CDC. Almost every state in the country has at least one confirmed case of infection.

The Biden administration is considering declaring the outbreak a public health emergency.

Speaking to CNN, US Health Minister Xavier Becerra said, “You definitely don’t want monkeypox to become a part of life.”

He asked the question, how many people have died in this virus compared to covid? The answer is zero. In his words, ‘We declare a public health emergency based on data and science, not on the basis of concern.’

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared the monkeypox outbreak a global health emergency on Saturday. This is the company’s highest alert.

This warning opens the way for coordinated international action and removes barriers to the exchange of vaccines and treatments.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Rosamund Lewis, WHO’s technical chief for monkeypox, spoke about it.

He said WHO is moving towards a global coordinated mechanism. The matterĀ  discussed. Infections can stopped if proper strategies adopted.šŸ”±
